Chapter Eight Overview – Celestial Timing: The Secret Ingredient

Ancient Egyptians were avid astronomers and carefully watched the movement of the heavens. The similarity of the white crown of upper Egypt, worn by the pharaoh, to the annual pathway of the Sun as traced in the sky over the period of a year, called an Analemma, are amazing. Can this be merely coincidence, or is it evidence that the ancient Egyptians were aware of this annual pattern as well as the orderly movement of other heavenly bodies? Understanding these motions gave the Egyptians the critical knowledge of optimal timing.
